Ashley Cameron
Artist | Professional | Design & Interfaces
United States
In her youth and well into college and post graduate school, Ashley was formerly recognized for her skills and natural intuition of visual purpose in design and creativity in the fine arts. She focus on technical drawing and realism earlier on and experimented with abstraction, books and typography in post-graduate school.

She graduated summa cum laude from Missouri Western State University with a BFA in Graphic Design in 2009. Immediately following graduation, Ashley's strikingly mature portfolio and concepts, paired with her versatile skill-set and ability to adapt in a fast-pace environment, swept her off the job market in an instant to become part of the minnow PROJECT in Lincoln, Nebraska. Ashley worked part time while she undertook the rigorous graduate program as an MFA candidate in Printmaking at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

After a year of constant running between grad school life and as a working professional, Ashley took a moment to seriously evaluate her interests, personal expectations and career goals. Technological insight, learning opportunities, personal challenges and stimuli at work, rapid social media progression and a turbulent economy convinced her to stop stretching herself thin and become dedicated to learning new and useful skills in the interactive-web department.

Within only a year, HTML + CSS had become second nature; she has been regularly practicing front-end design and development for nearly three years now. Ashley's aptitude and diligence to learn and her ability to fill the dynamic role as a designer and web developer has made her an invaluable and rewarding asset. She has openly embraced the flexibility of Wordpress, a secure and modular Content Management System(CMS), to design and build fully custom and optimal performing websites.

Ashley's personality, inquisitive mind and resourcefulness has allowed her to accomplish anything she sets her mind to. She has become a well-respected contemporary designer and forward-thinking innovator, establishing a web presence in the world of quickly growing technology.
Interests
I currently find myself residing in Lincoln, NE as a full time Graphic Designer at the minnow PROJECT. I grew up in rural Bethany, Missouri and graduated from South Harrison High School in 2006. In May of 2009 I graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from Missouri Western State University in Saint Joseph, Missouri.

As you can see, I am quite a varied artist. I still do a lot of experimenting with different media; however, I am moving toward mixed media, a combination of printmaking, drawing/painting, and typography/graphic design. I enjoy working in layers of information and with texture to establish visual language to conduce the viewer into questioning unperceptive dimensions and spiritual connectivity. This is a complex assignment but I am excited about the endless possibilities and artistic decisions that make for interesting visual compositions and learning. Now is the perfect time to research, experiment with different printing techniques and make a lot of work.

I recently completed a 42-page paperback book. You may purchase one in full-color or black and white at Lulu.com by searching my name [Ashley N. Beydler] or title of the book [Paradox of the Spirit].

Some of the influences in my art [more of what is yet to come] include: science [theology, astronomy, chemistry, anatomy/biology, physics, psychology], nature, illusion, surrealism, dreams/nightmares, Leonardo da Vinci, M.C. Escher, and Salvador Dali. I have also been looking more into Julie Mehretu and Tanja Softic.

Take a look at my website and portfolio and let me know what you think! I immensely enjoy hearing from my viewers. Also, ask about commissions and pricing information.
